Book Description
TEAMWORK is a dog training manual written specifically for people with disabilities to be able to train their own dog to assist them as a service dog in their daily lives. TEAMWORK teaches our method of positive reinforcement training, canine behavior and basic obedience training. The next step, teaching your dog the service exercises, such as retrieving dropped objects, turning on lights, etc. are taught in TEAMWORK II. This book is written in a specific sequence. We believe that you must have a fundamental understanding of your dog in order to be part of a team with him, and the first chapters will help you attain this level of understanding. Knowing a little more about how your dog thinks will help you in all aspects of living and working together. Whether this is your first dog or your tenth, or whether your dog has already been trained by someone else, you need to understand how to communicate, recognize behavior patterns and anticipate problems. This is how a partnership is formed; this is how TEAMWORK is acheived.
