Moorehead's magnum opus, this monumental work is a comprehensive study of the stone ornaments produced by the prehistoric North American aborigine. Well over 1000 artifacts are illustrated in 32 chapters, 448 pages and includes 2 foldouts, 3 maps, 2 color plates. Gustav's Library Reprint (2005).

About the Author
Warren King Moorehead (1866-1939)was curator of the Museum of Ohio State University (1894-1897). He became the first curator of the Peabody Museum as well as head of the Philips Academy Archaeology Department, Andover, Massachusetts in 1901. After retirement, he served on the United States Board of Indian Commissioners from 1909 to 1933.
