It traces German Literature from the Old High period to the 19th century and after. Contents: The Old German High Period, The middle german High Period, transition, The Sixteenth Century, The Seventeenth Century, First Half of Eigteenth Century, The Classical Period, 1745-1805, The Nineteenth Century and After. Many of the earliest books, particularly those dating back to the 1900s and before, are now extremely scarce and increasingly expensive.
