About Book

Stephen Metherell-Smith, Crescent Blues Book Views
Gabriel Devlin Kessler captivates the unsuspecting mind by successfully chronicling the psychotic state of an abused child growing into adulthood.

Andrew Henry Vachss
As exquisitely icy as a surgeon's scalpel... A painfully eloquent and ultimately empowering debut novel...

SF Site: The Best in Science Fiction and Fantasy
...a disturbing masterpiece...a demanding read-draining in its subject matter, nightmarish in its implications-but astonishing in its brilliance.

Spicy Green Iguana
Landscape of Demons is horror of the most terrifying sort... It is the torture of the trapped.

Bookhound
A mixture of coming-of-age novel and pure psychological horror. ...not a book that will leave you anytime soon.

Bookends, July 13, 1997
Well written. Subject captures a significant portion of present day superstitions and psychic concerns. Evil portrayed successfully.

Book Description
In this first novel we meet a young boy, both innocent and malevolent, who endures abuse by creating a world of shadows where he can escape beatings and the dead. This is a story across a unique internal landscape where there is no borderland between sanity and madness, only a compelling, sometimes horrific, blending of the two by this child into a power strong enough to summon love and extract revenge.

From the Publisher
Gabriel Devlin Kessler speaks for the voiceless, the children of abuse who wander through life scarred. His prose is lyrical, his story controversial-and we will hear from him again.

From the Author
I know how it feels to return to an old house and while standing outside in the dark, wonder what new creatures sit at the kitchen table or go howling through the halls. There is redemption--the main character in my novel finds it-but not without an unnecessary cost.
