About Book

Larry Finch, Technical Director; Prolifics
"Previous Java books all suffer from a fragmentary presentation of material. The examples frequently do not relate to each other, and rarely go beyond a few lines of code. . . . Borror, on the other hand, spends considerable time on the why of Java. . . . Borror's sense of humor adds considerably to his treatment of his material."

About the Author
Jeffry A. Borror has managed programming and technology groups over the past 20 years. As managing director of front office computing for Lehman Brothers he directed the development of a distributed trading system that ran in New York, London and Tokyo. As director of information technology for Daiwa Securities America he was one of the first to adopt Java technology on Wall Street. He directed the development of three Java-based trading systems and a middle office architecture that integrates the firm's front and back office systems. Java POOP is based on the course material that Jeff taught at Daiwa Securities.
