About the Author
Jack D. Ives is Professor of Geology at the University of Colorado at Boulder, and President of the International Mountain Society. Bruno Messerli is Professor of Geology at the University of Berne, and Chairman of the Commission on Mountain Geoecology, International Geographical Union.
