This a reprint of an 1887 book written by MACK-E-TE-BE-NESSY (Andrew J. Blackbird). It is a personal history of the author and includes an Algonquin language grammer as spoken in the Little Traverse Bay area of Michigan.

About the Author
The author, among other positions held, was an interpreter for the US government and was appointed postmaster of Harbor Springs, Michigan. Which was named at that time Little Traverse. He was the first Native American to hold that position.
